IMEA is committed to presenting a safe meeting space for all its attendees, presenters, and performers at this year's Professional Development Conference in Fort Wayne this January. To give you a sense of the precautions we are taking, we are sharing with you the current mitigation plan for attendees:

  • Attendees who feel ill are asked not to attend the meeting.
  • IMEA will be supplying green, yellow, and red lanyards for attendees at the registration desk.
    • Green Lanyard: I am comfortable with close contact (hugs, handshakes, etc.)
    • Yellow Lanyard: Fist bumps and elbow bumps are proper greetings for me.
    • Red Lanyard: I prefer to stay socially distanced for the safety of myself and my colleagues.
  • Education sessions will be socially distanced as space permits.
  • Staff will be reviewing activities with Visit Fort Wayne and the Grand Wayne Center to ensure that precautions are in place to guarantee a safe environment for all attendees.
  • IMEA will continue to review the guidelines and make changes to the policy as we learn more.

Should you have any questions, comments, or ideas on how we can make the event safer for our attendees -- please let IMEA staff know.
