Emily Maurek teaches elementary general music and choir at the Lake Central School Corporation in St. John, Indiana. Emily has presented conference sessions in conjunction with IMEA, Feierabend Association for Music Education (FAME), Wisconsin Music Education Association (WMEA), and Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA). In addition to being a FAME Endorsed Teacher Trainer, she is also the Past President and current Executive Director of FAME. Emily lives in Valparaiso with husband John and son Max. Andrew M. Himelick has taught elementary music for 30 years and teaches at Towne Meadow Elementary School in Carmel, IN. He has been an Assistant Choir Director with the Indianapolis Children’s Choir for 24 years. He is a graduate of Butler University and is a specialist in both Kodály and Orff-Schulwerk pedagogies. He has been a presenter at state and national music education workshops and conventions as well as a guest clinician at choral festivals. He is an Endorsed Teacher Trainer with the Feierabend Association for Music Education (FAME) in both First Steps in Music and Conversational Solfege. He is a contributing author to Feierabend Fundamentals and taught sample lessons on the GIA Publications DVD First Steps in Music: In Action. In 2006 he was awarded the Armstrong Teacher Educator Award from the Indiana University School of Education, in 2021 he was awarded the IMEA Outstanding Elementary Educator, and in 2022 he was teacher of the year for Towne Meadow Elementary School.
